Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 pitcher fresh lemonade (1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice + 2 cups simple syrup+ 8 cups of water)
  • 4 slices lemon
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves 

Preparations:

  • First, make the cranberry syrup. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, bring water, sugar, and juice to a boil. Stir to dissolve sugar.
  • Add 1/2 cup basil leaves, remove the pan from heat, and let steep for 20 minutes.
  • Allow the syrup to cool for at least 1 hour.  Then remove the basil. 
  • Fill glasses 3/4 full with ice and lemonade.  Fill the remaining room with cranberry basil syrup and top with fresh cranberries, basil, and a lemon slice.
